Know More About High Pressure Tanning Beds

By Gisela J. Watson

A new class of tanning beds, known as high pressure tanning beds, has been developed that enables users to get a dark tan in a short duration of time. These beds deliver much better results and are a lot safer than their low pressure counterparts.

The name high pressure tanning beds comes from the sort of lamps that are used in these tanning beds. With quartz as the primary material used in these lamps, they offer wattage as high as 1000. In a tanning bed, these lamps are fixed safely behind the glass filters. Rays of a fixed wavelength are allowed to pass through these glass filters which ultimately cause tanning. These lamps contain gas that's filled at a pressure that's higher than the atmospheric levels. It is due to the high pressure of this gas that these beds are known as high pressure tanning beds.

High pressure tanning beds obstruct a major portion of the ultraviolet B rays. They only permit a little portion of these UV rays to reach your skin, which is enough to stimulate the skin pigment cells. Since ultraviolet B rays are obstructed, it is only the ultraviolet A rays that ultimately reach your skin. Thus, you get that bronzed look without being subjected to any health risks. On the contrary, low pressure tanning beds emit a much higher rate of ultraviolet B rays that reach your skin, meaning the risks are higher.

Another major feature that renders these beds more appealing to tanning lovers is the time needed to establish a good base tan. You require typically only three to five sessions a session is of 20 minute duration to get a base tan. The reason being because of the fact that these beds block out most of the ultraviolet B light, thereby reducing the negative impact on the skin's higher layer epidermis. This means that your skin stays moisturized and holds the tan longer. The purchased tan also requires less maintenance than that obtained thru a low pressure tanning bed. You can simply retain your tan by using this kind of beds for just two or three times a month.

What's more, the beds are also great at saving time and money.. After the initial investment, you'll sustain your tan a lot more effortlessly and with small spending of further dough. Diseases like carcinoma of the epidermis have been a concern during the past with the low pressure tanning beds; but with the ultraviolet B ray blocking capability of the high pressure beds, the apprehensions are now noticeably reduced. Also, the tanning afforded by the beds is of a much superior quality and render your skin a gorgeous golden brown color.

To sum up, high pressure tanning beds are a safe and a pocket friendly way to get that bronzed look. Considering their pros, these high pressure tanning beds are bound to be gigantic in the tanning industry.
